Anxiety Treatments

I have experienced a range of anxiety treatments throughout the course of my recovery, some of which have been more useful than others, and some of which have proved useful at particular points in my recovery.

From my experience it is not enough to simply pop a pill and hope that you will suddenly be cured. Why? Well the symptoms that can arise as a result of stress and anxiety are not just a result of external influences, but also because of the way that anxious people tend to think or behave. Whilst medicines might help to calm the nervous system, they don’t, in my experience, do much to stop you from stimulating your nervous system through worry and internal and stress. Thus, any anxiety disorder treatment program, whilst obviously looking to help the body and nervous system heal physiologically, must also look at an individual’s lifestyle choices and the way that they cognitiviely think about their circumstances to really begin to cure them from their anxiety and their resulting physical symptoms.

This section therefore contains information on anxiety disorder treatments that I have either experienced or heard about to provide you, in conjunction with your therapist or doctor’s advice, with further valuable information to aid your own recovery.
